Wind Guitar

I built the Wind Guitar for Lauren Bon and The Metabolic Studio as an effort to create a sonorous body to capture strings vibrating in sympathetic resonance with the wind. I built a twelve-string instrument with a transducer placed behind the bridge that was connected to a microphone placed outside, capturing the wind sounds. The twelve strings of the instrument were tuned to the vibrations the transducer was producing having been triggered by the wind. In this way, the transducer’s vibrations caused the strings to resonate the frequencies of the wind. The Wind Guitar is currently installed at The Metabolic Studio.
